Position: Senior Director, Marketing – Strategy, New Product Development

Responsibilities

  • Lead long‑term portfolio strategy, identifying growth opportunities, emerging technologies, and competitive dynamics.
  • Drive upstream marketing activities including market assessment, voice‑of‑customer insights, and unmet clinical need identification.
  • Define product concepts, value propositions, and target product profiles to guide product development programs.
  • Partner with R&D leadership to shape and prioritize the innovation pipeline and ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Lead development of business cases, financial models, and strategic recommendations for new product investments.
  • Provide strategic oversight for product development programs from concept through development phases.
  • Collaborate with downstream marketing and commercialization teams to ensure successful transition from development to launch planning.
  • Present portfolio strategy, innovation initiatives, and program updates to senior leadership.
  • Build and develop a high‑performing upstream marketing team and foster a culture of innovation and customer focus.
Requirements
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 15 years of relevant experience with 10+ years of managerial experience (people or program), or an advanced degree with a minimum 13 years of prior relevant experience and a minimum of 10 years of managerial experience (people or program).
  • MBA or advanced degree.
  • Experience leading upstream marketing or innovation programs within medical technology.
  • Demonstrated success developing product strategies and guiding products through development processes.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare markets, clinical environments, and regulatory considerations.
  • Ability to travel as necessary to conduct business, attend meetings and conferences.
  • Experience working in highly matrixed, global organizations.
  • Strong strategic thinking, financial acumen, and executive communication skills.
