We are seeking an inspirational and strategic senior leader to define the future of the Data Robot platform and scale our world‑class design organization. This pivotal role will drive organizational excellence, establish platform‑wide design standards, and operate as a key executive partner across Product, Engineering, and Business Development.

• Articulate the overarching design vision, standards, and operating model for the entire Product Design team, ensuring processes and team structure are optimized to drive platform‑wide experience consistency and business outcomes.
• Take responsibility for the overall organizational structure, talent acquisition, and professional development of the design team, ensuring the team has the necessary skills, structure, and headcount to deliver a world‑class experience across the entire Data Robot product portfolio.
• Drive and own alignment across major product domains (e.g. build, govern and deploy capabilities), ensuring all product areas contribute harmoniously to a cohesive and elegant end‑to‑end user experience.
• Act as a recognized thought leader in the ML/AI design space, defining and driving the strategic development of core design practices, the centralized design system, and global research operations.
• Represent Product Design to the executive leadership team and advocate for design thinking as a core process to solve complex business and technical challenges across all company capabilities.
• Accountable for demonstrating the impact of design initiatives on key business metrics, such as user adoption, usage frequency, and customer retention, ensuring design creates a sustainable competitive advantage for Data Robot.
• Actively shape the design team's identity and culture, fostering an inclusive, high‑performing environment that attracts and retains top talent.
• Cultivate the growth and career paths of design leaders (Directors and Principal Designers), ensuring they are equipped to scale their respective teams and product areas.
• Model and champion Data Robot's core values, proactively contributing to cross‑domain team culture and company‑wide strategic initiatives.

• 10+ years of experience in Product Design, with at least 3+ years in senior management (Director level or above) overseeing large, distributed, and multidisciplinary design teams.
• Proven track record leading design for complex enterprise B2B software and a strong, practical understanding of AI/ML workflows and challenges.
• Demonstrated success in structuring, scaling, and optimizing a design team for maximum business impact and experience quality.
• Exceptional ability to communicate and negotiate design strategy, resource allocation, and trade‑offs with C‑level and VP‑level Product and Engineering partners.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, HCI, or a related field.

• Lead by doing: set the standard for excellence, inspire teams to deliver their best work, and ship great software in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments.
• Obsess about the details: strong visual acuity, deep product sense, and the ability to articulate how teams can achieve great experiences.
• Use AI to accelerate delivery: actively use AI design and development tools for exploration, prototyping, content generation, or code assistance, demonstrating how AI can improve timelines and quality.
• Understand code‑first workflows: experience designing for technical, code‑first platforms that blend CLI, API, and UI touchpoints, creating cohesive experiences for both code‑centric and graphical users.
