OVERVIEW

The CDC Foundation seeks a Strategic Plan to Advance Racial Equity (SP-ARE) Project Manager to support the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. This position will work with the Deputy Assistant Commissioner for Health Equity, Deputy Chief Operating Officer, and the Director of Performance Management and Quality Improvement.

The SP-ARE Project Manager is responsible for the management of the SP-ARE implementation and supporting the Public Health Infrastructure Grant (PHIG) reporting process. Both projects require a dedicated leader with a human-centered, trauma-informed approach and experience addressing institutional and structural barriers.

The SP-ARE Project Manager will participate in SP-ARE-related meetings, support key work groups which are comprised of cross-department members, assist in aligning efforts and roles across various spaces that support racial equity efforts across DPH, and lead follow up and reporting key updates, including updating the SharePoint site. The SP-ARE Project Manager will also serve as a thought partner, advisor and cross-department collaborator.

In this role, you will be at the forefront of driving change to advance racial equity, coordinating with various internal collaborators to oversee the implementation of the SP-ARE and will play a pivotal role in shaping a supportive and inclusive environment. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least 5-7 years’ experience in project management.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Skills and demonstrated experience in project management, racial equity, health equity, creative problem solving, and innovation.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the department’s goals and values by reinforcing the priorities of health equity that explicitly center racial equity, demonstrating inclusivity, and bringing diversity of thought, critical thinking skills, and experience.
  • Strong technical skills and proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, One Drive, One Note, Forms, Planner, Project, Power Automate, SharePoint, and Zoom).
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies and tools, as well as resource management practices.
  • Excellent judgment and decision making, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail, and business acumen to accomplish project goals and strategic objectives.
  • Ability to manage multiple timelines, thrive in a complex environment, and successfully address competing priorities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Center health equity in all aspects of project management, collaboration, and meeting facilitations.
  • Responsible for overall coordination, status reporting and stability of project-oriented work efforts.
  • Support coordination of updates at regular reporting intervals on key performance indicators and process being made over time.
  • Develops standards and criteria for reporting timeline according to agreed-upon reporting dates.
  • Support the development of the performance management system, establishing, updating, and implementing standard operating procedures.
  • Establishes and implements project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet stakeholder expectations.
  • Responsible for assembling project plans and teamwork assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality review; and escalating functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately.
