Our Corporate Controller’s department is seekingLead or Senior Accountantswith “Big 4” firm experience to join our growing team as a part of ourAccounting Leadership Rotational Program (ALP).

Positions are eligible for a hybrid schedule or limited hybrid schedule in our Worcester, MA office.

Competitive base salary, incentive compensation bonus program, and sign-on bonus included, up to $10,000.

This is a Full-time, Exempt role

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Hanover ALP is an exceptional opportunity for an early-in-career CPA aspiring to management to learn various aspects of accounting, SEC financial reporting and internal controls of a national Property & Casualty Insurer while developing leadership skills, receiving mentorship, and working toward a management position.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS:

Management Preparation Program:

• Designed for high performers aiming for management positions.
• Combines 3 challenging 6 to 12-month job rotations with training in technical, industry, and leadership skills.
• Includes high-visibility projects, networking, and mentoring.

Skill Development through Rotations:

• Provides diverse experiences across accounting disciplines.
• Each rotation supervised by a management member in the specific discipline.
• Focused on building skills, industry knowledge, and senior management exposure.
• Participants are paired with senior management mentors throughout the program
• Leaders in the program are committed to participants’ growth and success.

Individual Development Plans

• Tailored plans covering rotations, training, and developmental activities.
• Frequent meetings with leadership and the program director to track progress.
• Participants select a mentor for career guidance at Hanover Insurance.

Training and

Education:

• Paid training and professional education credits offered.
• Topics: management development, SEC reporting, insurance accounting, technology, and more.

Rotations in Key Accounting Areas:

• SEC Reporting, Property & Casualty (P&C) Accounting, Controls Oversight, Financial Systems, Investment Accounting, Tax, and Financial Analysis.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required, an MBA is a plus.
• Minimum 1+ years, up to 5 years of experience with a “Big 4” CPA firm. Some portion of this experience must be in the attest function.
• A current CPA license or actively pursuing a CPA license.
• A track record of success, both academically and professionally.
  Demonstrated leadership qualities.
