Responsibilities
- Setup and Operations:
Configure CNC lathes, including loading raw materials, installing tools, fixtures, chucks, and jaws. - Programming/Editing:
Load, run, and edit G-code or conversational programs (e.g., Mazatrol) to produce parts. - Precision Machining:
Monitor machine operation to ensure accurate cutting, turning, drilling, and threading, adjusting feeds and speeds as necessary. - Quality Control:
Inspect finished components using precision tools like micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify conformance with blueprints. - Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot malfunctions, and replace worn tools. - Safety and Documentation:
Adhere to strict safety guidelines (PPE) and maintain accurate production logs.
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical school certificate or associate degree in machining is preferred. - Experience:
Previous experience as a CNC operator or machinist, specifically with lathe machines. - Skills:
Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings, strong mathematical skills (geometry/trigonometry), and knowledge of material properties. - Technical Proficiency:
Strong mechanical aptitude, familiarity with CAD/CAM software (Master Cam preferred) and proficiency with precision measuring instruments.
