Location:

Worcester, MA 01615

Shift: 2nd Shift (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM)
Pay Rate: $24/hr + $1.50/hr Shift Differential
Duration: 5/11/2026 – 8/28/2026

We are seeking a skilled Finishing Operator II to support manufacturing and finishing operations in an industrial production environment. This role is responsible for setting up and operating a variety of finishing machines, CNC equipment, and hand tools used in grinding and finishing operations. Products may range from initial shaping through final finishing and may involve complex geometry, precision tolerances, and computer-controlled machinery.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate finishing machines and equipment for grinding, shaping, and finishing operations
  • Work from engineered specifications, blueprints, work orders, and machine instructions
  • Operate CNC and computer-controlled finishing equipment with more advanced machine setups
  • Perform dimensional inspections using precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, comparators, plug gauges, and dial indicators
  • Handle manufactured products including abrasive wheels, abrasive segments, ceramic finishes, and kiln furniture
  • Verify product quality, appearance, dimensions, and tolerances against specifications
  • Make machine adjustments and minor program edits when necessary
  • Load and unload materials manually or with lifting devices/hoists
  • Observe machine operations and troubleshoot issues to maintain quality and productivity
  • Record production and processing data accurately on forms and computer systems
  • Use hand tools and finishing equipment to trim, shape, scrape, deburr, sandblast, cut, and balance products
  • Maintain safe operation of equipment and follow all PPE and safety requirements
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Technical school training, apprenticeship, or equivalent manufacturing/machining experience preferred
  • Experience operating CNC machines and related manufacturing equipment preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints and apply trade mathematics for measurements and dimensional verification
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with tight tolerances and precision measurements
  • Ability to work independently after training period
  • Minimum of 4 months of related work experience preferred to achieve proficiency in all phases of the role
Physical &

Work Environment Requirements
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical activities including walking, bending, crouching, climbing, kneeling, and reaching
  • Comfortable working in an industrial manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, dust, fumes, and moving mechanical parts
  • Hearing protection, gloves, safety glasses, safety shoes, and other PPE required
  • Overtime may be required
