Position Overview

We are seeking reliable and detail-oriented Finishing Operators to join a busy manufacturing team in Worcester, MA. In this role, you will set up and operate finishing equipment and hand tools used in high-volume production processes. You will be responsible for transforming products from initial shaping through final finishing while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with manufacturing experience who enjoy hands-on work in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities Production & Equipment Operation
  • Set up and operate finishing equipment used in manufacturing processes, including:

    • Sandblasting equipment

    • Speed testing equipment

    • Balancing equipment

    • Grinding and cutting machines

  • Select and install appropriate tooling based on work orders and production requirements.

  • Adjust machine settings using hand and power tools to ensure proper operation.

  • Start, monitor, and stop equipment while maintaining production efficiency.

  • Observe machine performance and make minor adjustments to address operational issues.

  • Transfer materials, parts, and finished products using material-handling equipment when required.

  • Trim, shape, scrape, and deburr components using hand tools.

Quality & Documentation
  • Follow work orders, machine instructions, and supervisor guidance to determine product specifications and operational requirements.

  • Load and unload materials manually or with hoists as needed.

  • Inspect finished products using templates, dimensional measurements, and speed-testing methods to ensure quality standards are met.

  • Accurately record production and processing information using forms and computer systems.

Qualifications Required
  • High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience.

  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions and safety procedures.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • Ability to work independently after completing training.

  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred
  • Previous manufacturing, machine operation, or production experience.

  • Experience using hand tools and measuring devices.

  • Technical school training, apprenticeship experience, or related industrial background.

Training

On-the-job training is provided. Most employees become proficient in all phases of the role within approximately three months.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.

  • Ability to move heavier items using appropriate lifting equipment.

  • Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift.

  • Regular use of hands and arms for handling materials and operating equipment.

  • Occasional bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, balancing, and reaching.

Work Environment

This position is performed in an industrial manufacturing setting. Employees should expect:

  • Exposure to varying seasonal temperatures.

  • Moderate noise levels requiring hearing protection.

  • Exposure to moving mechanical equipment.

  • Occasional exposure to dust and airborne particles.

  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including:

    • Safety glasses

    • Hearing protection

    • Safety footwear

    • Gloves

    • Protective clothing as required

Screening Requirements

Candidates must successfully complete all required pre-employment screenings, which may include:

  • Drug Screening

  • Employment Eligibility Verification (I-9/E-Verify)

  • Manufacturing/Light Industrial Screening Package
