Production Machinist I
Entry-level machinist role responsible for precision machining of parts using CNC and manual equipment in a manufacturing environment. Works from detailed work orders and blueprints to perform repetitive production tasks with defined tolerances.
Set up and operate CNC machines, lathes, mills, and grinders
Interpret blueprints and work instructions to determine machining processes
Select tools, materials, feeds, and speeds based on job requirements
Perform basic fixturing with support and ensure accurate part production
Inspect finished parts using measuring instruments (micrometers, gauges, etc.)
Collaborate with senior machinists to improve processes
High school diploma or GED with 2+ years of machining experience
CNC/machining training or apprenticeship preferred
Ability to read blueprints and apply basic machining math
Basic computer skills and understanding of machining principles
Manufacturing setting with noise, dust, and moving machinery
Standing for long periods; lifting up to 50 lbs
Use of PPE (gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.) required
4–6 months to achieve full proficiency
Highly repetitive, detail-oriented work with defined processes
