Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead engineering operations within a precision bearing manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for driving manufacturing excellence, supporting new product development, optimizing production processes, improving quality, and leading a team of manufacturing engineers.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with bearing manufacturing
, metal stamping
, machining
, tooling
, and continuous improvement initiatives in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Lead and mentor the Manufacturing Engineering team.
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes for bearing components and assemblies.
- Design and implement tooling, manufacturing methods, and process improvements.
- Support new product launches from concept through production.
- Review customer drawings and ensure manufacturability.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Tool Room, Sales, and Customer Service teams.
- Lead engineering projects, including timelines, budgets, and implementation.
- Resolve manufacturing and technical issues while improving productivity and quality.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support ISO-compliant manufacturing processes and quality systems.
- Develop engineering documentation, work instructions, process controls, and engineering change notices.
- Reduce manufacturing costs through process optimization and tooling improvements.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline preferred.
- 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience in bearing manufacturing is strongly preferred.
- Experience with:
- Metal stamping
- Progressive die design
- Machining
- Assembly processes
- Tooling design
- Working knowledge of GD&T and blueprint interpretation.
- Experience using AutoCAD and/or Solid Works.
- Strong project management and leadership skills.
- Experience supporting ISO-certified manufacturing environments is a plus.
- Bearing design and applications engineering
- DFMA (Design for Manufacturability & Assembly)
- Heat treating and case hardening processes
- Root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Competitive salary: $140,000 - $160,000
