Area Manager - Back End Operations OverviewThe Back-End Operations Manager provides the leadership to consistently achieve daily operational targets throughout CNC Machining, Heat Treat, NDT, Inspection, outside services and Shipping/Receiving. The manager will drive department productivity, operational efficiency, throughput, variable cost and Pipe line projects. The manager is responsible for the full execution of the ship plan to achieve customer commitments.
Essential Job Functions- Directs all back-end manufacturing functions.
- Drive Safety initiatives to prevent accidents and lower DART Rate.
- Generate and execute a plan to reduce overall costs.
- Develop strategies to achieve operational objectives for daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly targets.
- Ensure consistent quality standards are satisfied and operational procedures are followed throughout the manufacturing process.
- Identify new opportunities and associated initiatives that will drive optimization in the processing and manufacturing methodologies.
- Identify and respond to actual and potential operational constraints and develop the necessary corrective actions.
- Drive the implementation of the PCC Toolbox
- Foster an environment of positive employee relations with open communication channels and employee involvement.
- B.S. or advanced degree (engineering or business degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in heavy manufacturing with a track record of bottom line improvements.
- Strategic planning experience and analytical problem solving skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and teambuilding skills.
- In depth knowledge and experience in lean manufacturing practices.
- Experience with a P&L and other performance measurements.
- Experience managing to the Theory of Constraints.
- Self-motivated and achievement oriented.
- A demonstrated ability to hold direct reports accountable.
- Working knowledge of MS Office and mainframe spreadsheets & databases.
- US Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status required.
US Citizenship or Perm Residency is required due to government military contracts.
