Job Summary:

The Director of Health & Wellness will lead the development and management of wellness programs at the YWCA, ensuring they align with our mission to promote health and well-being for all members and the broader community. This role is pivotal in creating an inclusive, supportive, and empowering environment that serves individuals from all backgrounds, with a particular commitment to racial and gender equity in program access and outcomes.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support staff through recruitment, training, supervision, and annual evaluations, fostering a diverse and inclusive team culture.
  • Ensure smooth operations and successful execution of wellness programs and events that meet the needs of the entire community.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage wellness programs (fitness, aquatics, etc.) that prioritize the health and well-being of all community members, ensuring accessibility and equity.
  • Foster a culture that values relationship-building and exceptional service for everyone, with a focus on creating a welcoming space for all individuals.
  • Develop and implement customer service programs and member engagement strategies that reflect our commitment to inclusivity and meeting the needs of everyone in the community.
  • Establish strategies to meet income goals while ensuring that our programs are accessible to all, including individuals from historically underserved or marginalized groups.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and manage an annual work plan that aligns with organizational goals and promotes equitable health opportunities.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with community organizations, businesses, and stakeholders to ensure our programs reflect and support the diverse needs of the broader community.
  • Work with the Marketing/Development Department to promote wellness programs, with messaging that emphasizes inclusivity and equal access for all.
  • Support grant writing efforts and program evaluations to ensure resources are distributed equitably, with a focus on community impact.
  • Track participation, maintain records, and report outcomes to ensure all members have equal opportunities to engage and benefit from wellness services.
  • Manage scholarship programs to increase access for individuals in need, ensuring equitable distribution of support across the community.
Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • A strong commitment to the YWCA's mission and values, including racial and gender equity, and the ability to incorporate these principles into program development, decision making, and community engagement.
  • Experience in program development, financial management, staff supervision, marketing, customer service, event coordination, and strategic planning.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of community groups, volunteers, community partners, and stakeholders to ensure that wellness services are accessible, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of diverse populations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on clear, professional, and culturally responsive communication.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, with the ability to organize, analyze, interpret, and report program data.
  • Experience utilizing electronic data management and reporting systems. Familiarity with Twin Oaks or similar participant management databases is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to collect, track, organize, analyze, and report program outcomes, participation data, and performance metrics to support continuous quality improvement, grant compliance, organizational reporting, and informed decision making.
  • Experience monitoring program performance, maintaining accurate documentation, and preparing reports for funders, leadership, and community partners while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and grant requirements.
  • Knowledge of performance measurement, data driven decision making, and quality improvement practices, with the ability to identify trends, evaluate program effectiveness, and implement strategies that improve participant outcomes and operational efficiency.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to develop innovative programs, solve complex challenges, think strategically, identify opportunities for growth, and implement creative solutions that strengthen participant engagement, community partnerships, revenue generation, and organizational impact.
