The Primary Infusion Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a key clinical leader responsible for supporting and managing a fast-paced infusion center caring for both oncology and non oncology patient populations. Serving as the primary on site provider, the Infusion APP oversees clinical operations, ensures safe and efficient delivery of infusion therapies, and provides immediate evaluation and intervention for patients experiencing infusion related issues or acute changes in condition.
This role requires a high level of autonomy, clinical expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively with nursing staff, pharmacists, oncologists, and other interdisciplinary team members

Scheduled hours:
12 hour shiftsShift Total: 13 shifts in a 28-day block period (4 weeks), 13 blocks a year
Weekends: Required to work 1 2 Saturdays per month

Major Responsibilities:
1. Clinical Care & Patient ManagementProvide real-time assessment and management of patients requiring urgent or acute evaluation in the infusion center.
Manage infusion-related reactions, including initial assessment, stabilization, treatment, documentation, and coordination of follow up care.
Review, enter, and adjust infusion-related orders; ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.
Evaluate and clear patients for treatment when concerns arise (e.g., labs, symptoms, toxicity).
Serve as the primary clinical resource for infusion nurses regarding patient concerns, reactions, and treatment-related questions.
Complete and manage EPIC In Basket tasks timely and efficiently.
Update, correct, and troubleshoot infusion orders, treatment plans, and documentation discrepancies.
Ensure accurate clinical documentation, including acute visits, interventions, order modifications, and adverse event reporting
Support infusion center throughput by offering timely patient evaluations and clinical decision-making.
Collaborate with nursing, pharmacy, and administrative leadership to maintain smooth operational flow and address real-time issues.
Identify and escalate operational or safety concerns affecting patient care.
Contribute to ongoing improvement efforts around workflow, patient safety, and quality initiatives
Act as the on site provider supporting nursing colleagues across oncology and non oncology infusion services.
Maintain clear communication with referring providers, oncologists, and other members of the care team.
Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, huddles, and case reviews as needed.
Clinical Scope & Expectations:
Function as a generalist APP with cross-trained competency in:
Solid tumor oncology
Hematology
Infusion-related urgent care
Non-Oncology therapies
Independently assess, diagnose, and manage acute oncology-related and non-oncology related symptoms and complications.
Demonstrate advanced triage skills and sound clinical judgment.
Maintain strong interdisciplinary collaboration with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and support staff.
Required:
Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in MA.
Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program with a Master's Degree
Certification as an NP or PA
C.BLS/ACLS certification
Experience and comfort working autonomously in a fast paced clinical environment.
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem solving skills.
Preferred:
Experienced providers with 1 2 years of clinical experience (primary care, oncology, acute care, infusion, or emergency medicine strongly preferred).
New graduates will be considered with a clinical oncology rotation, prior RN oncology experience, or EMT experience.
Prior experience in oncology or infusion services is highly beneficial in this role
