Position Overview:
This position is accountable for assessing, planning, directing and evaluating patient care in the area of responsibility. Ensures adherence to Health Alliance policies and procedures and supports and fosters the mission and vision of the Health Alliance system. Responsible for the quality of care provided to patients and the processes that lead to continuous performance improvement. The role includes clinical practice, staff development and continuing education, management and leadership, consultation and research.
Works with members of administration, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure lines of communication are open and processes for problem resolution are in place.
Major Responsibilities
Completes staffing for the department and weekly payroll submission based on MNA and SEIU contract guidelines.Focuses on performance improvement initiatives.Responsible for auditing nursing documentation and maintaining adherence to HAH documentation standards.Maintains compliance with Core Measures.Develops a state of constant readiness for Regulatory Agency Surveys and provision of maximum levels of service excellence.Position Qualifications License/Certification/Education
Required:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)Registered Nurse licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of MassachusettsBLS certifiedCertifications required per specialty might include ACLS, NRP, PALS, etc.Preferred:
Master's DegreeNational certification in specialtyExperience/Skills
Required:
Minimum five (5) years of experience in specialty nursing with at least three (3) years of supervisory experienceExtensive knowledge of specialty practices, standards and trends as well as the ability to keep current on new effortsMust possess excellent interpersonal and written communication skillsKnowledge of TJC, OSHA, HCFA and EMTALA regulations as well as standards of care from pertinent specialty organizationsDemonstrated leadershipAbility to read, write and speak clearly in EnglishPreferred:
