Registered Nurse (RN) Manager – Labor and Delivery

Tenet Massachusetts is recruiting a Registered Nurse (RN) Manager for the Labor and Delivery unit at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Job Summary

This role provides leadership and support to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) responsible for all nursing and other designated patient care functions/services within the hospital organization. The RN Manager will assist in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practice at the unit level. The RN Manager is responsible for 24/7 management of assigned areas, supporting the CNO to ensure high quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and support to the CNO and nursing staff.
  • Assist in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practice on the unit.
  • Assume 24/7 responsibility of manager’s assigned areas.
  • Ensure high quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management.
  • Maintain active and current registered nurse license in the state of residence/practice and demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Qualifications

Education

  • Required:

    Bachelor’s degree in nursing (or commitment to obtain within 2 years).
  • Preferred:
    Bachelor’s or master’s degree.

Experience

  • Required:

    2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital environment as a manager or full-time charge nurse or related position.
  • Required:

    2 years of Special Care Nursery experience.
