New graduate nurse transition to practice program incorporating the Nurse of the Future Nursing Core Competencies.
New graduate nurses are hired into the institution in cohorts and progress through nursing orientation together. New graduates can expect individualized education with preceptors on their units, further enhanced with a series of educational days over the course of 6 months, fostering opportunity for mentorship, camaraderie, and experiential learning.
The preferred candidate has graduated from nursing school within twelve (12) months before their date of hire. This role encompasses nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and coordination of care for patients and their families across the health care continuum. The registered nurse is accountable for clinical, educational, quality, and fiscal patient care outcomes using the model of care designed by the nursing department and following established agency policies, procedures, protocols, guidelines, and standards of practice.
Reports to the Unit Nurse Manager.
All candidates are required to submit a resume to apply. Upon being selected for an interview, the following components will also be required:
- Letter of Intent
- 2 letters of Recommendation (preferably from Managers and/or Instructors)
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an associate’s degree or Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN). BSN preferred. Candidates who do not have a BSN must enroll in a Baccalaureate program one year from date of hire and must complete their BSN by the end of the semester in which the four‑year anniversary of employment at BMC occurs.
- Active BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification
- Licensed as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
$39.02–$90.05
This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, and licensure/certifications directly related to position requirements.
