Registered Nurse (RN) | Bone Marrow Transplant
Location: Boston, MA
Agency: Compunnel Healthcare
Pay: $70 to $72 per hour
Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Travel Nurse Source is working with Compunnel Healthcare to find a qualified Bone Marrow Transplant RN in Boston, Massachusetts, 02134!
Key Responsibilities Patient Care & Assessment- Perform comprehensive patient assessments before, during, and after apheresis procedures.
- Review physician orders, treatment plans, and laboratory results to determine patient readiness for treatment.
- Monitor vital signs and patient responses throughout procedures.
- Recognize and respond appropriately to adverse reactions and emergencies.
- Initiate, monitor, and discontinue apheresis treatments according to established protocols.
- Operate and troubleshoot apheresis equipment and related devices.
- Perform therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE), red cell exchange, leukapheresis, platelet collection, and stem cell collection procedures as applicable.
- Ensure proper vascular access management, including central venous catheters and peripheral access.
- Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, AABB standards, FACT standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
- Collaborate with physicians, transplant teams, laboratory personnel, and other healthcare professionals.
- Educate patients and families regarding procedures, risks, benefits, and post-treatment care.
- Communicate changes in patient condition to the appropriate healthcare providers.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control practices.
- Ensure proper handling of blood products and biological specimens.
- Maintain equipment and supplies in accordance with organizational policies.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Current BLS certification.
- Strong IV therapy and vascular access skills.
- Experience with apheresis, infusion therapy, oncology, critical care, dialysis, or blood banking preferred.
