Job Summary
The Resident Care Director is responsible for coordinating resident care to ensure independence, health, psychosocial support, and liaison with healthcare and community. Supervises staff, manages operations, and ensures quality, safety, and resident satisfaction.
Responsibilities- Promote the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living to residents, visitors, co‑workers and the surrounding community.
- Act as a department head with an active role in growing community occupancy by representing and interacting positively with potential residents, family members and professionals.
- Assume the administrative authority, responsibility and accountability of directing the overall management of the Residence.
- Delegate administrative authority to personnel in charge when absent.
- Ensure open and timely communication with associates, residents, families and LCB Senior Living regarding community operations and programs.
- Ensure compliance with LCB Senior Living policies and procedures, laws, regulations and legal requirements governing the community.
- Develop and implement quality improvement, strategic planning and environmental safety programs to maintain a safe environment for all.
- Manage a community outreach plan and liaison network with industry partners.
- Ensure associates have necessary resources to perform duties efficiently.
- Maintain departmental budgets and implement operating and financial controls required by policy.
- Plan and implement staff orientation and training; encourage teamwork across departments.
- Ensure timely associate reviews and fair personnel actions in accordance with policy.
- Administer medications per physician orders, including topical, oral, and injectables where allowed.
- Complete and review incident/accident reports; implement changes to minimize future issues and ensure compliance reporting.
- Prepare annual operating budget with LCB Senior Living and communicate needed resources.
- Review resident complaints and grievances and take appropriate actions.
- Oversee all record‑keeping functions necessary to disclose services.
- Ensure staffing and schedules meet required coverage at all times.
- Conduct and attend required in‑service training and orientation per state regulations.
- Direct daily operations and lead Department Managers.
- Participate in the Manager‑on‑Duty Program.
- Other duties as requested.
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) with active state license. Minimum 2 years supervisory experience with seniors. Must be 25+ years of age. Valid driver’s license.
Computer literacy and familiarity with office software (word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation). Knowledge of care for seniors with dementia per LCB policy and state regulations; calm handling of emergency situations.
Minimum education:
RN with B.S. nursing degree and 2 years full‑time nursing experience (including at least 1 year in home health or community health) or diploma/associate’s degree with 4 years nursing experience (including at least 1 year in home health or community health).
Certificates/Licenses:
Active nursing license in state of employment; valid driver’s license.
- Coordinate and manage all nursing and assisted‑living aide services rendered by direct care staff.
- Supervise assigned nursing personnel and assisted‑living aides in delivery of services.
- Evaluate clinical competence of nursing personnel and aides.
- Develop policies and procedures concerning nursing services.
- Recruit, select, orient, and train direct service staff.
- Plan and budget for clinical services and evaluate outcomes.
- Plan for clients who will no longer receive ALSA services.
- Ensure availability of nursing services 24 hours.
- Provide weekly reports to the executive director and monthly reports to the service coordinator.
- Oversee compliance with LCB quality initiatives and state regulatory programs.
