This is a great opportunity to join the nursing leadership team with a fast paced, sub-acute and long-term rehabilitation and skilled nursing care provider.

The Assistant Director of Nursing ADON is responsible for the implementation and evaluation of programs and practices relating to clinical services including staff development and infection control.

• Conduct rounds to monitor staff assignments, resident concerns and make adjustments as dictated by circumstances and resident needs.
• Serve as the Staff Development Educator for all shifts, all staff.
• Serve as the senior clinical manager in the absence of the Director of Nursing and perform duties as designated and assigned.
• Participate in the staff evaluation process by providing attendance records and observations of employee performance during work.
• Maintain records of content of educational programs/training and attendance.
• Have working knowledge of the practice acts for each discipline of nursing and be able to assist staff at each level to function safely within these standards.
• Demonstrate ability to positively influence staff to perform at their highest level of skill and knowledge and maintain professional appearance and interventions with residents, other staff and community at large.
• Serve as the Infection Control Coordinator including data collection, blood borne pathogens standard and precaution/isolation standards.
• Monitor the infection control line list and track data to identify trends and staff development opportunities.

• Ideal candidate will hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license. A strong LPN with ADON or nursing management/leadership will be considered. Resumes for candidates that are not nurses are unqualified and will not be considered.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Other languages helpful but not required. Must be able to add, subtract, divide and multiply.
• Needs to have some working knowledge of computers.
• Knowledge of the Virtual Gateway is a plus.
• Must be eligible to certify as an Infection Preventionist within six months of hire.

• At least 4 years of clinical nursing experience.
• At least 2 years of progressive management experience in the long‑term care setting.
