Position: Registered Nurse, Maternity-Delivery (L&D), Nights, 36 hours, 12 Hour Shifts

Job Details

  • Exemption Status: Non-Exempt
  • Hiring Range: $37.51 - $81.95 (final offer may vary based on experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations)
  • Schedule Details: Holidays – Every Third Holiday, Sunday through Saturday;
    Weekends – Every Third Weekend
  • Scheduled

    Hours:

    7pm-7am
  • Shift: 3 – Night Shift, 12 Hours (United States of America)
  • Hours per Week: 36
  • Cost Center: 10010 – 0708 Maternity Delivery
  • Union: MNA-Memorial/Hahnemann

Note:

Responsibilities
  • Utilize the Nursing Process for the delivery and management of patient’s care from Admission to Discharge, appropriate to the developmental age of the patient population.
  • Perform patient assessment/reassessment according to standard procedure.
  • Develop and coordinate individual plan of care including discharge planning.
  • Direct, supervise, coordinate and evaluate nursing care within assigned clinical setting.
  • Delegate appropriately to others in accordance with job description and competency level.
  • Document patient care according to standard procedure.
  • Develop, implement/coordinate and document Education Plan for patient/family/significant other.
  • Ensure quality and continuity of care through collaboration with other health care providers.
  • Administer medications, perform treatments, therapies and operate equipment according to policy and procedure. Assist physician with treatment and procedures and special tests as required or directed.
  • Participate in and support Nursing Governance activities.
  • Assume responsibility for professional growth. Assist in education and development of staff.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives and demonstrate the use of quality improvement in daily operations.
  • Standard Staffing Level Responsibilities
  • Comply with established departmental policies, procedures and objectives.
  • Attend variety of meetings, conferences, seminars as required or directed.
  • Demonstrate use of Quality Improvement in daily operations.
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations and requirements.
  • Respect diverse views and approaches, demonstrate Standards of Respect, and contribute to creating and maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients and visitors.
  • Maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
  • Perform other similar and related duties as required or directed.
  • Position Qualifications License/Certification/Education (Required)
    • Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
    • BLS is a requirement for every RN unless ACLS certification is current, in addition to any unit specific certifications and competencies.
    Preferred
    • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing highly preferred.
    Experience/Skills (Required)

    Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing.

    Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.

    Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions

    Work is considered medium. Position requires work indoors in a patient care environment.

    Additional Certifications for Milford Regional
    • Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
    • BLS through either AHA or ARC is a requirement for every RN within 30 days of hire.
    • ACLS through AHA required in select areas within 6 months or first scheduled course offering whichever is sooner.
    • PALS through AHA required in select areas within 6 months or first scheduled course offering whichever is sooner.
    • NRP Advanced Provider through AAP required in select areas within 6 months or first scheduled course offering whichever is sooner.
    Preferred for Milford
    • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing highly preferred.
