Registered Nurse, Hospital Nights

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Nursing Process for the delivery and management of patient’s care from admission to discharge, appropriate to the developmental age of the patient population.
• Performs patient assessment/reassessment according to standard procedure.
• Develops and coordinates individual plan of care including discharge planning; implements education plan for patient/family/significant other.
• Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluates nursing care within assigned clinical setting.
• Delegates appropriately to others in accordance with job description and competency level.
• Complies with established departmental policies, procedures and objectives.
• Attends variety of meetings, conferences, seminars as required or directed.
• Participates in performance improvement initiatives and demonstrates use of quality improvement in daily operations.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies such as Joint Commission, DPH, etc.; develops and maintains procedures necessary to meet regulatory requirements.
• Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements; respects diverse views and approaches, demonstrates standards of respect, contribute to a professional, tolerant environment.
• Maintains open lines of communication with program leadership, other departments, staff, physicians, resident staff, and other support personnel.
• Maintains regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
• Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed.

License/Certification/

Education:

• Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration (Required).
• Current unrestricted driver’s license (Required).
• BLS required for all RNs unless advanced certification (ACLS, PALS, NRP) is current (Required).
• Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (Preferred).

Experience/

Skills:

• Minimum five years’ nursing experience (Required).
• Thorough knowledge of the discipline of nursing (Required).
• Home‑care or telehealth experience (Preferred).
• Phlebotomy, IV insertion, and telemetry experience (Preferred).

Work is considered heavy. The position requires travel from operations center to local hospitals and patient residences, with primary work conducted indoors in an alternative patient care environment.
