American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma Center in Worcester, MA, requiring a permanent MA RN license and at least 18 months of ED experience.
Details- Works in the Emergency Department of a Level I Trauma Center and academic teaching hospital
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts, with a start time of 7:00 PM (flexibility of up to four hours before or after shift start is possible, but only in rare, urgent staffing situations)
- Contract length options of 13 or 26 weeks available, with 36 or 48 hours per week options
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Telemetry monitoring required, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Care of ventilated patients and respiratory skills required
- Triage experience required; psych/behavioral health ED experience is a plus
- Must be available to work all 7 days of the week — this is a union facility and no special scheduling accommodations can be made
- Active, permanent MA RN license currently in hand required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS; NIHSS and TNCC preferred
- Minimum 18 months of ED experience required; 2+ years preferred
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Ability to read and interpret telemetry required
- Two references required for consideration, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher
- Candidates with prior disciplinary history on their nursing license are not eligible for this position
- Orientation includes two pass/fail exams: a medication exam and a telemetry exam (80% passing score); each exam allows only one attempt — failure results in immediate contract cancellation
- Study materials are provided during the compliance process and facility orientation (FDIs)
- One major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day) may be included in RTO; priority given to candidates with minimal RTO requests and 26-week contracts
- Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review; no RTO is permitted during the first week of the assignment
- Local candidates are accepted; RNs must reside more than 200 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
- Candidates who have previously worked within this health system must have a minimum 12-month separation before being eligible
