American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department (ED) position at a Level I Trauma Center in Worcester, MA, requiring a permanent MA RN license and a minimum of 18 months of ED experience.
Details- Night shift position: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, with flexibility up to four hours before or after the posted start time based on urgent staffing needs only
- 26-week contract with the option for a 13-week contract
- Scheduled hours of 36 or 48 hours per week
- Level I Trauma Center emergency department setting
- EMR:
Epic (preferred) - Must be available to work any day of the week with no special scheduling accommodations
- Active, permanent MA RN license currently in hand
- Minimum 18 months of ER/ED experience required; 2+ years preferred
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
- Preferred certifications: NIHSS, TNCC
- Ability to read and interpret telemetry and cardiac rhythms, and manage dysrhythmias
- Two professional references required, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or above
- Candidates must reside more than 200 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate; local candidates within 200 miles are accepted at the same bill rate
- Responsibilities include triage, cardiac monitoring and emergency response, care of ventilated patients, and respiratory care
- Psych/behavioral health ED experience is a plus
- Two pass/fail exams are administered during orientation: a telemetry/EKG exam (80% passing score) and a medication exam — each allows only one attempt; failure results in immediate contract cancellation
- Study materials are provided during the compliance process and facility orientation
- Contract allows up to 14 days of RTO submitted for review; no RTO is permitted during the first week of the assignment
- One major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day) may be included in RTO; priority given to candidates with minimal RTO requests and 26-week contracts
- This is a union facility; no special scheduling accommodations can be made
- Candidates who have previously worked within this health system must have a 12-month separation before being eligible
