American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Dept position at a Level I Trauma Center requiring MA licensure and telemetry skills.
Details- Work in the Emergency Department of a Level I Trauma Center
- Patient population includes psych/behavioral health ED cases
- Evening shift schedule (3x12 hours), 3:00 PM to 3:30 AM
- Shift start time may flex up to four hours earlier or later based on urgent critical department staffing needs
- Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Active MA RN license in hand required
- Minimum 1.5 years (18 months) of ED experience required, 2+ years preferred
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
- Preferred certifications: NIHSS, TNCC
- Must be able to read and interpret telemetry, including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Skilled in respiratory care and care of ventilated patients
- Cardiac monitoring and emergency response experience required
- Triage skills preferred
- Two professional references required, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher
- Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, ventilator patient care, and triage in a high-acuity ED setting
- Assignment length available from 13 to 26 weeks, with options for 36 or 48 hours per week
- One major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's) must be included in RTO
- Priority given to candidates with minimal RTO requests and 26-week contract commitments
- Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment
- Must pass a pass/fail telemetry exam (80% passing score, 1 attempt) and a pass/fail medication exam during orientation; failure to pass either will result in immediate contract cancellation
- Study materials provided during compliance process and facility-directed interviews (FDIs) to help prepare for exams
- Local candidates accepted within a 200-mile radius at the same bill rate
- Candidates with prior employment at this health system must have a 12-month separation before returning
- Candidates with prior disciplinary actions on their nursing license cannot be considered
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
