JOB SUMMARYThe LPN / LVN provides professional, direct client care in a medical detoxification and residential program settings in accordance with established program procedures. This position collaborates with efforts of health team members and in accordance with the nursing process and standards of care and practice
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES- Oversee fulfillment of patient’s medical orders, address patient medical concerns.
- Triage medical concerns, administer medications and injections to patients as directed by directed physician.
- Monitors Client self-administration of medication.
- Responsible for screening all individuals for physical pain and makes referrals for evaluation and management as appropriate.
- Serve as first line in any medical emergency and works with the clinical team in incidences of psychiatric emergencies.
- Perform laboratory procedures from specimen collections, as authorized.
- Record patient observations and activities in patient records accurately and timely in accordance with nursing standards and organizational policy and procedure.
- Communicate with patients, physicians, nurses, and pharmacy staff.
- Oversee all aspects of admission/discharge process, including:
- Provide quality assessments to client’s medication sheets and files to determine if clients are receiving appropriate medication in a timely manner, including proper destruction of medication.
- Follow all policies and procedures with regard to patient information protection, including alcohol-drug patient confidentiality and HIPAA.
- Attend training on chemical dependency as required.
- Maintains and adheres to established infection control/employee health program.
- Maintain and demonstrates a current working knowledge of applicable clinical procedures and nursing care based on company policy and State and Federal guidelines.
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with current clients, family members, referrals sources and vendors.
- High school diplomaor equivalent required.
- Completion ofaccreditedLVN/LPN program,required.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’sdegree, preferred.
- Current, valid LVN or LPN license.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
- Minimum one (1) year experience in behavioral health or residential detoxification program setting is required.
