American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a Level I Trauma Center requiring a Massachusetts RN license and at least 1.5 years of ER experience.
Details- Emergency Department setting within a Level I Trauma Center
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
- Shift start time may flex up to 4 hours earlier or later based on urgent department staffing needs, though this is rarely invoked
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days
- Must be able to read and interpret telemetry
- Active MA RN license required in hand
- Minimum 1.5 years (18 months) of ER experience required; 2+ years preferred
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- NIHSS and TNCC certifications preferred
- Skills required:
respiratory care, care of ventilated patients, cardiac monitoring and emergency response, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias - Triage skills required
- Experience in Psych/Behavioral Health ED preferred
- Two references required for consideration, one of which must be a Nurse Manager or higher
- Provide emergency nursing care within a high-acuity Level I Trauma setting
- Must pass a pass/fail medication exam and a pass/fail telemetry exam (80% passing score) during orientation, each with only one attempt; failure results in immediate contract cancellation
- Study materials will be provided throughout the compliance process and facility-directed interviews to help prepare for required exams
- Pre-start and orientation modules required, with additional annual modules; module time varies and is factored into orientation hours
- Assignment lengths available range from 13 to 26 weeks, with scheduling options of 36 or 48 hours per week
- One major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's) must be included in requested time off
- Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
- Priority given to candidates with minimal RTO requests and those available for 26-week contracts
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate within a 200-mile radius
- Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
- Candidates with prior actions on their nursing license cannot be considered
