American Traveler is hiring an RN for an ER Holding position requiring an active MA RN license and 2 years of telemetry experience.
Details- Stationed in the ED, caring for ER Surge/Overflow patients
- Floating to different areas within the ED to manage overflow and surge patients
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Shift start time flexibility of up to 4 hours earlier or later based on critical departmental needs
- EOW/EOH (every other weekend/every other holiday) requirement
- Uses Epic for charting
- 36 hours per week over a 13-week assignment
- Active MA RN license required
- 2 years of telemetry experience required
- BLS required; ACLS preferred
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur Evac) preferred
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
- PCA medication administration experience preferred
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Must pass a pass/fail medication exam and a pass/fail telemetry exam during orientation (1 attempt each; failure results in contract cancellation)
- 2 professional references required, one of which must be a Nurse Manager or higher
- Provide direct nursing care to ER overflow and surge patients across multiple ED zones
- Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be available to work all 7 days
- Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week
- Facility allows 1 of the 3 major upcoming holidays as RTO
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
- Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at the same bill rate
- Study materials provided throughout the compliance process and during facility-directed instruction (FDI)
