American Traveler is hiring an RN for an ER Holding position requiring an active MA RN license and 2 years of telemetry experience.
Details- Work in the ER Holding unit as part of an ER Surge/Overflow team caring for overflow patients
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, with a 7:00 PM start time and flexibility of up to 4 hours earlier or later based on department need
- 13-week assignment at 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend/holiday rotation required
- Floating to different areas within the ED to care for overflow/surge patients
- Uses Epic charting system
- Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days
- Active MA RN license required
- 2 years of telemetry experience required
- BLS required; ACLS preferred
- Experience with respiratory care and chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur Evac) preferred
- Cardiac monitoring and emergency response experience, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with medications, PCA, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and starting and maintaining IVs
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Two references required for consideration, one of which must be from a Nurse Manager or higher
- Provide care to ER overflow/surge patients across various ED areas
- Must pass a pass/fail telemetry exam and a pass/fail medication exam during orientation, each with only one attempt allowed
- Facility allows 1 of the 3 major upcoming holidays as RTO
- Up to 14 days of RTO can be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at the same bill rate
- Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
