An established biologics organisation is continuing to expand its technical leadership capabilities to support a growing portfolio of development and manufacturing programs. As the business continues to evolve, it is investing in specialist technical expertise to strengthen its Drug Product function and support increasingly complex biologics projects from development through commercial manufacturing.
The RoleReporting into the CTO, the Global Head of Drug Product will provide strategic and technical leadership across Drug Product development, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive formulation, process development and technology transfer activities. This is a highly visible leadership position with significant influence over technical strategy, client engagement and future capability development.
Responsibilities- Lead the global Drug Product function supporting biologics development and manufacturing activities
- Drive formulation development, process optimisation and manufacturing readiness across multiple programs
- Oversee technology transfer into GMP manufacturing and support successful project execution
- Partner closely with Manufacturing, Fill & Finish, MSAT, Quality and Regulatory teams
- Provide technical leadership during client interactions, development activities and manufacturing investigations
- Build and develop a high-performing Drug Product organisation while driving continuous improvement
- Support technical strategy, innovation and long-term capability development across the function
- Act as a senior technical leader, ensuring robust and scalable Drug Product processes across a diverse project portfolio
- PhD, MSc or equivalent industry experience in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline
- Extensive experience leading Drug Product development within biologics
- Strong background in formulation development, process development and technology transfer
- Experience supporting aseptic manufacturing and sterile fill & finish operations
- Demonstrated leadership experience within biologics manufacturing, biotech or CDMO environments
- Strong understanding of GMP manufacturing, CMC and regulatory expectations
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with experience leading cross-functional technical teams
