Development of genome editing reagents for muscular dystrophy and cancer
.
The Wolfe laboratory will be filling a postdoctoral position to develop therapeutic genome editing reagents for muscular dystrophies and cancer. These projects will focus on:
These studies will expose the successful candidate to cutting‑edge genome editor engineering approaches and the delivery of these reagents in vivo via lipid nanoparticles. The successful candidate will also learn cutting‑edge deep‑sequencing approaches to evaluate off‑target editing within the genome. They will have the opportunity to participate in meetings and conferences associated with genome editing and gene therapy, which will broaden their exposure to cutting‑edge research within the field.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in biology, biochemistry, chemistry or a related biomedical science. In addition, the potential candidate must have strong oral and written communication skills and be eager to present research results at national meetings. Prior experience with genome editing systems, cell culture, deep‑sequencing technologies and mouse disease models is advantageous but not required.
