Research Scientist, Biotech Research
Scientist Position
We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist to support discovery and development programs through execution of cell based and protein based functional assays. This role will focus on antibody screening, characterization, and lead candidate evaluation to support research and development initiatives. The successful candidate will work within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment and contribute to generation of high quality scientific data packages.
This position requires strong laboratory expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced research setting. The ideal candidate will have experience with biologics, cell culture, immunoassays, and screening technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct high throughput antibody screening and characterization studies to evaluate binding and functional properties.
- Perform ELISA, flow cytometry, and cell based assays to support lead candidate identification and optimization.
- Analyze experimental results and present findings to project teams and stakeholders.
- Review scientific literature and place findings into appropriate scientific context.
- Troubleshoot assays, instrumentation, and experimental procedures to improve performance and reproducibility.
- Support development and expansion of screening platforms and evaluation of new technologies.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to achieve project goals and timelines.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, documentation, and reporting of scientific data.
- Manage multiple projects while adapting to changing priorities and business needs.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education with typically 3 to 5 years of relevant experience or a Master's Degree in a related scientific discipline.
- Strong experience with ELISA and other binding assays.
- Hands on experience with flow cytometry and cell based functional assays.
- Strong mammalian cell culture experience.
- Experience working with biologics, antibodies, and related therapeutic modalities.
- Experience with automated liquid handling systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with high throughput screening platforms.
- Experience with Graph Pad Prism.
- Experience with Flow Jo.
- Knowledge of assay development and optimization.
- Experience evaluating novel screening technologies.
