Lab Tech / Assistant, Biotech Research, Research Assistant/Associate
Our client, a global leader in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry, is seeking an R&D Technician II to join their Global Compound Logistics & Operations (GCLO) team. This group plays a critical role in supporting drug discovery by managing the receipt, storage, tracking, and distribution of biological and chemical research materials used by scientists across the organization.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a biology background and laboratory experience who enjoys working in a highly organized, fast‑paced environment. You'll be part of a team that directly supports cutting‑edge research while gaining experience with sample management, laboratory operations, and inventory systems at a world‑class biotech company.
Required Skills & Experience- Bachelor's degree in Biology or a related life sciences field
- 2‑4+ years of experience in biologics sample processing, laboratory operations, or a related environment
- Experience handling biological materials in a laboratory setting
- Strong understanding of laboratory techniques and best practices
- Ability to prioritize work, multitask, and adapt to changing priorities
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable performing repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy
- Experience working with automated liquid handling systems
- Familiarity with laboratory inventory management systems or databases
- Experience working in biosafety cabinets (bio‑hoods) using aseptic techniques
- Sample management or laboratory logistics experience
- Ability to troubleshoot laboratory equipment
- Experience working independently and collaboratively within a research environment
- Receive, catalog, and maintain inventory of biological research samples
- Store biological materials under appropriate conditions, including managing
-80°C freezers - Aliquot biological samples using sterile and aseptic laboratory techniques
- Process and fulfill internal sample requests for research teams
- Ship biological materials using internal shipping and tracking systems
- Receive and stock laboratory supplies
- Maintain accurate electronic inventory records
- Dispose of laboratory waste following established procedures
- Support daily laboratory operations and sample management activities
