We are seeking a talented and motivated Scientist II to join the Biologics CMC Develop ability team, a key component of the Biologics CMC Drug Product Development Organization. This contractor position focuses on the identification and characterization of biophysical and chemical liabilities in discovery-stage biologic drug candidates. The role involves performing in-depth LC-MS based characterization and contributing to the development of biologic drug candidates.

We are seeking a talented and motivated Scientist II to join the Biologics CMC Develop ability team, a key component of the Biologics CMC Drug Product Development Organization. This contractor position focuses on the identification and characterization of biophysical and chemical liabilities in discovery-stage biologic drug candidates. The role involves performing in-depth LC-MS based characterization and contributing to the development of biologic drug candidates.

• Perform in-depth LC-MS based characterization of therapeutic biologic molecules and their post-translational modifications.
• Conduct liquid chromatography-based characterization of biologic drug candidates, including size exclusion, ion exchange, and reverse phase.
• Execute experimental protocols, collect results, and perform data analysis independently.
• Maintain excellent documentation of work, including electronic lab notebook and protocols.
• Prepare and deliver concise scientific presentations of experimental results.
• Oversee maintenance of key laboratory equipment and routine laboratory operations.
• Build strong relationships with other team members and across groups.
• Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, and documentation compliance.

• Biologics characterization using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS).
• Experience with liquid chromatography methods such as size-exclusion chromatography, ion exchange, and reverse-phase.
• BS or MS in Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, or equivalent with 3-5 years (BS) or 1-2 years (MS) of biopharmaceutical industry experience, or Ph.D. with 0+ years of experience.
• Hands-on experience with protein mass-spectrometry, including subunit analysis, peptide mapping, and disulfide mapping.
• Proficiency in data processing and analysis using MS Excel and Graph Pad.

• Experience with liquid handling robots and their programming.
• Demonstrated track record of independent thinking, creativity, and scientific accomplishment.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Familiarity with Waters Empower and Protein Metrics software is a plus.

This position is based in Worcester, MA, with a requirement to work 100% onsite. The contract is for one year, with potential extensions based on performance and business needs. Relocation is possible at the candidate's own expense.

This is a Contract position based out of Worcester, MA.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $51.00/hr.
