We are seeking a talented and motivated Scientist II to join the Biologics CMC Develop ability team, a key component of the Biologics CMC Drug Product Development Organization. This contractor position focuses on the identification and characterization of biophysical and chemical liabilities in discovery-stage biologic drug candidates. The role involves performing in-depth LC-MS based characterization and contributing to the development of biologic drug candidates.
Responsibilities- Perform in-depth LC-MS based characterization of therapeutic biologic molecules and their post-translational modifications.
- Conduct liquid chromatography-based characterization of biologic drug candidates, including size exclusion, ion exchange, and reverse phase.
- Execute experimental protocols, collect results, and perform data analysis independently.
- Maintain excellent documentation of work, including electronic lab notebook and protocols.
- Prepare and deliver concise scientific presentations of experimental results.
- Oversee maintenance of key laboratory equipment and routine laboratory operations.
- Build strong relationships with other team members and across groups.
- Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, and documentation compliance.
- Biologics characterization using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS).
- Experience with liquid chromatography methods such as size-exclusion chromatography, ion exchange, and reverse-phase.
- BS or MS in Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, or equivalent with 3-5 years (BS) or 1-2 years (MS) of biopharmaceutical industry experience, or Ph.D. with 0+ years of experience.
- Hands-on experience with protein mass-spectrometry, including subunit analysis, peptide mapping, and disulfide mapping.
- Proficiency in data processing and analysis using MS Excel and Graph Pad.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with liquid handling robots and their programming.
- Demonstrated track record of independent thinking, creativity, and scientific accomplishment.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Familiarity with Waters Empower and Protein Metrics software is a plus.
This position is based in Worcester, MA, with a requirement to work 100% onsite. The contract is for one year, with potential extensions based on performance and business needs. Relocation is possible at the candidate's own expense.

Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $51.00/hr.
