SOUS CHEF

Overview

SOUS CHEF – Full time position.

Location:

Worcester State College, 486 Chandler Street, Worcester, MA 01602.

Schedule:

• Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards; ensures deadlines are met based on production orders.
• Supervises hourly food service associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, and participating in reviews; may recommend disciplinary action as appropriate.
• Stores food in designated areas following all corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Maintains proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures.
• Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils; cleans workstation before leaving; keeps display equipment clean and debris-free during meal service.
• Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner; relays relevant information to supervisor.
• Demonstrates understanding of daily menu items and explains them to associates and customers.
• Keeps up with peak production and service hours.
• Monitors inventory and deliveries; tracks production, consumption, and waste; informs supervisor when supplies are low.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Prior catering experience is preferred.
• Serv Safe certification is preferred.
• Prior university experience is preferred.

Pay Range: $22.00 per hour to $27.00 per hour.
