Responsibilities

In this outside sales role, you will:

Become the Expert. Learn the products first—Victaulic’s product portfolio and how they can provide solutions for customers. You’ll undergo an extensive training program to master grooved mechanical pipe joining methods and other competitive joining techniques such as welding and flanging.

Know the Industry. Understand construction cycles, identify major construction, expansion or retrofit projects, and stay current with market trends and competitor activity. You’ll engage with local trade organizations and professional associations to become part of the industry fabric within your territory.

Understand the Business. Partner with your Regional Sales Manager to develop a business plan—opportunity mapping, sales goals, product promotion plans and strategies. Execute all project pursuit phases from inception through design, bidding, job‑site training, commissioning and after‑sale follow‑up, ensuring full quotation details and teamwork with inside sales, engineering and support staff.

Build Strong Relationships. Develop and maintain trust with mechanical contractors, engineers and building/project owners. Spend time with customers—including evenings and weekends—to build lasting relationships. Coordinate with Victaulic distributors and other representatives for a balanced distribution network and optimal customer experience.

Educate and Influence. Learn customer needs and educate them on the overall value of Victaulic products. Conduct site demos, training sessions and lunch‑and‑learn presentations, influencing decision‑makers to maximize sales potential.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, with tuition reimbursement available.

• Previous sales experience in value‑added products/services, preferably in commercial construction or mechanical products (pipes, valves, fittings).

• Demonstrated sales achievements and a history of developing long‑standing relationships.

• Competitive spirit, flexibility, resilience, self‑motivation and strong problem‑solving and project‑management skills.

• Ability to work independently, maintain professional image, and travel as required, often in adverse weather and handling equipment up to 50lbs.

Compensation

OTE of $100,000 to $130,000 annually plus a company car.
