Business Development Manager – Preclinical Services (NHP Models)

Massachusetts (Boston/Cambridge preferred)

Industry: Preclinical CRO / Drug Development Services

Our client is a rapidly growing preclinical services organization specializing in non-human primate (NHP) models supporting translational research and drug development programs for biotech and pharmaceutical partners. They are seeking a highly driven Business Development Manager to expand strategic partnerships across the Boston/Cambridge life sciences ecosystem.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded scientific professional with deep industry relationships and strong expertise in preclinical development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive new business opportunities and revenue growth across biotech, pharma, and CRO accounts
  • Develop and manage strategic relationships within the Boston/Cambridge life sciences community
  • Identify client needs and position customized preclinical service solutions utilizing NHP models
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with scientific and operational teams to develop proposals and client strategies
  • Maintain a strong understanding of market trends, competitive landscape, and drug development pipelines
  • Represent the company at scientific conferences, networking events, and industry meetings
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through contract execution
  • Consistently achieve or exceed revenue and business development targets
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biology, Pharmacology, or related scientific discipline; advanced degree preferred
  • 5+ years of business development experience within biotech, pharmaceutical, or CRO environments
  • Strong and active network within Boston/Cambridge life sciences organizations
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding revenue targets in complex scientific sales environments
  • Deep understanding of preclinical and/or clinical drug development processes
  • Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts and translate them into compelling business solutions
  • Hands‑on experience or strong familiarity with non-human primate (NHP) models and translational research applications
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
  • Ability to travel as needed for client meetings and industry events
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience selling preclinical research services or translational models
  • Existing relationships with emerging biotech and mid-to-large pharmaceutical companies
  • Scientific background in immunology, neuroscience, infectious disease, or related therapeutic areas
