Summary / ObjectiveReporting to the Business Development Manager and governed by the VP of Marketing, this entry-level position provides training on the fundamentals of electric supply sales. Primary focus is generating and qualifying new business opportunities for our sales team and basic demonstration of key products and services.
Essential Functions- Prospect and identify clients via cold calling, research, and direct marketing outreach.
- Travel to work sites to engage with decision makers and demonstrate products and services.
- Research prospects and identify stakeholders to generate interest and create rapport.
- Manage expectations and overcome objections.
- Maintain an organized pipeline and activity records.
- Reach and exceed key performance indicators including calls scheduled, calls completed, qualified opportunities and deals won from meetings.
- Develop skills necessary for promotion into a consultative selling or account management role.
- Work closely with management, marketing and senior sales teams to develop a career in sales.
- Collaborate with top performers on the sales team.
- Work alongside other Business Development Representatives, suggesting ways to improve procedures and assess successes and failures.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a clerical, distribution office/showroom setting. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and digital cameras.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work- Hourly, full‑time.
- Monday‑Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
- Earns commission.
- Ability to handle stress of traveling.
- Light to moderate lifting up to 20 pounds.
- Occasional climbing stairs and use of ladders.
- Expected on‑site/field work such as trade shows and meetings.
Some regional travel required (~30%).
Education and Experience- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Entry level to 1‑year sales or professional experience.
- Equivalent industry experience may be substituted.
- Cold calling or previous sales training experience a plus.
