Position: Western & Cellular Analysis Sales Specialist (Boston)

Pay Range: $95,900.00 - $

The Sales Specialist for the Western & Cellular Analysis sales team is responsible for selling Simple Western and Cellular Analysis instruments and related systems and consumables in the assigned territory. The role is field‑based, supporting customers throughout the Boston/Cambridge area, and is eligible for a commission plan and a long‑term incentive package of stock grants based on individual and company performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Achieve sales targets through consultative selling methods.
  • Maintain and develop incremental business in existing and new accounts.
  • Collaborate with the full Commercial Team to provide a coordinated customer approach and promote all Bio‑Techne solutions.
  • Field sales within the assigned territory, visiting customers 75% of the time.
  • Apply knowledge of standard scientific methods, techniques, reagents and equipment relevant to Bio‑Techne’s product line.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts for instruments and reagents in the Immunoassay Product Lines.
  • Use  to manage leads, customers, and opportunities; use dashboards to track progress and KPIs.
  • Plan and execute account management to achieve goals and follow company vision.
  • Ensure customers understand the value proposition, features, benefits, competitive advantages, and applications of relevant products.
Job Qualifications:

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree (or advanced) in a science‑related field required.
  • 5+ years of sales experience in the life science tools space, with at least 2 years selling in a related market.
  • High‑value capital equipment sales experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Understanding of customer workflows and applications in research, development, and production of pharmaceutical drugs and biologics.
  • Broad understanding of scientific techniques and research areas (e.g., Western Blot, Flow Cytometry, ELISA, Sequencing, High‑Value Capital Equipment).
  • Proficiency in MS Office, PowerPoint, and Salesforce.
  • Execution of value‑based sales techniques: prospecting, relationship building, and tailored solutions presentation.
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills, focused on buyer needs and customer‑centric solutions.
  • Ability to map key accounts, identify business potential, and execute territory plans.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, presentation, and time & territory management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, particularly in negotiation, persuasion, and problem‑solving.
  • Work independently; self‑starter with strong motivation and a desire to succeed.
