Scientist Position
We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join a Biologics Develop ability team supporting biologic drug product development activities within a large enterprise environment. This role focuses on advanced characterization of therapeutic biologic molecules using mass spectrometry and chromatography techniques. The successful candidate will contribute to identifying critical product attributes, supporting candidate selection, and advancing biologic development programs. The position offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative laboratory setting while driving high quality scientific outcomes and supporting key research initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed LCMS based characterization of therapeutic biologic molecules and evaluate post translational modifications.
- Conduct chromatographic analyses using size exclusion chromatography, ion exchange chromatography, and reverse phase chromatography methods.
- Execute laboratory experiments independently, collect and analyze data, and ensure timely delivery of results.
- Maintain accurate documentation of experiments, protocols, and laboratory activities within electronic laboratory notebooks.
- Prepare and present scientific findings and experimental outcomes to internal stakeholders.
- Support maintenance, calibration, and operation of laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
- Collaborate effectively with cross functional teams to support biologics development objectives.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety, documentation, and quality standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related scientific discipline with relevant industry experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree or 2 years of experience with a Master's degree in biopharmaceutical development.
- Hands on experience with protein mass spectrometry including subunit analysis, peptide mapping, and disulfide mapping.
- Strong experience with LCMS based characterization of biologic molecules.
- Experience with liquid chromatography methods used for biologic protein characterization.
- Proficiency in data analysis using Excel and Graph Pad.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field.
- Experience working with liquid handling robotic systems and programming automation workflows.
- Demonstrated record of scientific achievement, innovation, and problem solving.
- Experience supporting biologic drug development and CMC related activities.
