Utility Inspection Technician

Job Description

Starting pay: $24-$32/hr., depending on experience. As leaders in the utility industry, concentrating on quality and safety, RECONN is looking for people to join our team who are problem solvers, take pride in public safety, and are comfortable in a fast-paced, exciting work environment.

• Check gas meters for leaks and corrosion; perform visual inspections and ensure all required paperwork and data are completed.
• Report to your respective work area on time at the start of each shift.
• Identify abnormal operating conditions and accurately fill out all forms associated with the inspection visit (electronic or paper).
• Work daytime, full-time; overtime may be required.
• Work weekends as needed.

Instructor-led training will be provided.

• Proficient at using current technology, smartphone, and tablet.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in a one-on-one setting and while addressing a group.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions; outdoor experience preferred.
• Able to pass a drug screen.
• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record required.
• Ability to use simple hand tools.
• Ability to read utility map.
