As a Principal Signal Processing Engineer, you will develop the next generation technology for the treatment of heart rhythm disorders, creating and optimizing algorithms for diagnosis and therapy during cardiac ablation procedures.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and test signal processing algorithms and implement them as high‑performance, high‑reliability production code for a medical device.
- Collaborate with the hardware engineering team on electronics and firmware to support signal processing needs.
- Manage signal‑processing pipelines within Affera software products.
- Perform performance verification and validation of signal‑processing and computational algorithms.
- Analyze bench, preclinical, and clinical data to inform design decisions and verification activities.
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or
- Master’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or
- PhD with 3 years of relevant experience.
- Deep understanding of signal‑processing fundamentals including filter design and statistics.
- Experience with machine‑learning based development, including dataset annotation, model development, system validation, and deployment in production software environments.
- Understanding of, or interest in learning about, cardiac pacing, mapping, ablation, and body impedance measurements.
- Hands‑on R&D experience, ideally with custom/prototype hardware.
- Proficiency with software development on Linux operating systems and programming in Python and C++.
- Ability to work in an agile development environment.
- Strong work ethic, entrepreneurial drive, and interest in gaining a deep understanding of cardiac electrophysiology.
