Salary Range: $21.00 To $23.00 Hourly
We are seeking a shuttle driver for a route between Newton and Worcester MA transporting college students.
We operate walk-on 14-passenger vehicles which do not require a CDL - however, if you have a CDL you get paid extra and are encouraged to apply!
(For this specific route only) Non-CDL drivers earn $21/hour to start. Applicants who already have a CDL (w/ P endorsement) earn $23/hour to start.
VPA offers weekly payroll - get a check, direct deposit, or a pay card each week!
Currently, we are seeking a PT driver to work while college is in session. If based in Worcester, the route will be 6:30am-11:30am. If based in the Weston/Newton area, the route will be 7:30am-10:30am.
Other hours are also available.
Shuttle Driver- Job Description
The job responsibilities of a Shuttle Driver may vary depending on the location where the employee is scheduled to work. The responsibilities include but are not limited tothe following:
- Greeting patrons in a polite manner and assisting them in any way we can
- Safely shuttling customers to various destinations
- Opening and closing doors for patrons
- Adhering to all traffic laws/signs to ensure the safest possible operation of our shuttles
- Communicating effectively with customers and co-workers. This includes radio contact with management, shuttle drivers, and lot attendants
- Completing required pre-trip inspections to meet federal as well as company safety requirements
- Recording passenger counts and trip times
- Completing necessary paperwork involved in daily operations
- Assisting in equipment set up and break down (i.e. signs, cones, etc.)
- Sweeping shuttles and removing debris to ensure cleanliness
- Communicating mechanical problems with shuttles to management
- Complying with company procedures for shuttle operations
Due to our insurance regulations, shuttle drivers must be at least 20 years old.
A valid DOT Medical card is also required. (We will pay for qualified applicants to obtain their medical card if necessary - a simple DOT physical).
Professional driving experience is a plus.
Background checks and driving tests will be conducted.
