About the Role

Fridays working, term time only contracts, and school hours offer an excellent work‑life balance while being part of something meaningful. Whether you're an experienced Cook Manager looking to lead a busy school kitchen or a Catering Assistant who enjoys preparing and serving nutritious meals, you will play an important role in creating a positive dining experience for pupils, staff and visitors.

Working in a school environment offers an excellent work‑life balance, with shifts during the day, Monday to Friday, and school holidays off. You will work as part of a supportive team delivering great service while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.

• Prepare and serve fresh, nutritious meals.
• Support the smooth day‑to‑day running of the kitchen.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness.
• Deliver excellent customer service to pupils, staff and visitors.
• Work collaboratively as part of a friendly and supportive team.

• Lead the kitchen operation.
• Manage stock, ordering, compliance and budgets.
• Support the team to deliver an outstanding catering service.

• A positive, friendly and professional attitude.
• A passion for food and excellent customer service.
• Previous catering or hospitality experience is desirable.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• For the Cook Manager role: previous kitchen, cooking, leadership or supervisory experience is desirable.
• Food Hygiene qualifications are advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.

• Competitive pay:
  Cook Manager £15.00 per hour, Catering Assistant £12.71 per hour.
• Working pattern & hours:
  Cook Manager 40 hours per week, Catering Assistant 26 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time only.
• Annual pay paid in equal monthly instalments across 12 months, ensuring consistent pay throughout the year, including during school closures.
