- Work safely at all times, fully complying with Health & Safety regulations, using appropriate PPE, and following Safe Systems of Work.
- Deliver a high-quality, customer-focused service by communicating effectively and upholding BFL's values.
- Carry out a wide range of roofing works across properties, including repairs and maintenance of felt, tiled, and slate roofs, as well as minor works linked to new build and construction projects.
- Complete associated tasks such as minor joinery, leadwork/flashing, and basic brickwork or repointing to support roofing activities.
- Use tools, plant, and access equipment safely and effectively, ensuring all vehicles and equipment are maintained in good working order and defects are reported promptly.
- Plan and deliver work efficiently by interpreting job information, measuring accurately, and managing materials and van stock responsibly.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, ensuring all work meets current regulations while proactively identifying risks, supporting safeguarding, and building positive relationships with customers and colleagues.

- Strong practical skills and first‑hand knowledge of roofing trades, including roof covering replacement and leadwork.
- Flexibility to adapt to varied tasks and an ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
- A proven track record of completing repairs to high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
- Excellent customer service skills and a people‑oriented approach.
- Comfort working in a social housing environment.
- Outstanding work ethic and the ability to complete tasks independently without close supervision.
- A Basic DBS Check is required (arranged by BFL)
- A Full UK Driving licence
