G-Box Engineer

Role Summary

We are working with a growing and well-backed business within the energy sector, specialising in combined heat and power (CHP) systems. Due to continued expansion and increasing demand, the company is looking to recruit a Field Service Engineer to join their UK-wide engineering team.

This role involves installation, servicing, maintenance and fault finding on micro CHP systems – compact, boiler‑sized units typically installed in hotels, residential developments and commercial buildings, which generate both heat and electricity from a single fuel source.

• Carry out installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of micro CHP systems
• Diagnose faults and perform corrective repairs on mechanical and electrical components
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance
• Support commissioning of new CHP installations
• Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety regulations and company standards
• Complete service reports and documentation accurately
• Provide technical support to customers on‑site
• Participate in a call‑out rota to support breakdowns where required

• Experience working on engines, generators, CHP systems, or similar equipment
• Background in sectors such as automotive, HGV, plant, rail, marine or power generation
• Strong mechanical skills with a basic understanding of electrical systems
• Good fault‑finding and diagnostic ability
• Ability to work independently in a field‑based role
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Full UK driving licence
