Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Multi-trade Operatives role based in Worcester. The role involves carrying out a variety of building and maintenance tasks, such as basic carpentry, plumbing, plastering, painting and decorating, and minor repairs across residential and commercial properties. Multi-trade operatives will diagnose issues, complete remedial works, and ensure jobs are finished to a high standard and in line with health and safety requirements.
Day-to-day responsibilities include attending scheduled call-outs, liaising with site managers and clients, recording work completed, and maintaining tools and equipment in good condition. The role may involve working on planned maintenance programs as well as emergency repairs, requiring flexibility, reliability, and a strong focus on customer service.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated competence in core trades such as basic carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling, and painting and decorating.
- Experience in building maintenance, property repairs, and refurbishment work within residential or commercial environments.
- Strong understanding of health and safety practices, safe use of tools and equipment, and adherence to site procedures.
- Ability to interpret job sheets and drawings, assess repair needs, and complete tasks efficiently and to specification.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with clients, colleagues, and supervisors, with a focus on professional customer service.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing time and priorities to meet deadlines.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel locally as required for site visits.
- Relevant trade qualifications or apprenticeship (e.g., NVQ or equivalent in a construction-related discipline) are desirable.
- Previous experience with public sector, social housing, or framework contracts is an advantage.
