Salary: £18.00 £ 21.00 per hour, depending on experience

Working Hours:
  • Monday to Friday
  • Flexible shifts between 7:30am and 5:00pm
  • Choose from 6-hour, 8-hour, or 10-hour shifts
  • Overtime opportunities available
  • No weekend work

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic to join a well-established and highly respected company with over 75 years of industry experience.

Based in a brand-new, modern workshop, you will be joining a skilled and supportive team within a company that is committed to investing in both its people and equipment.

This role offers excellent flexibility, allowing you to choose a working pattern that suits your lifestyle, with no weekend work required.

Key Responsibilities

As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on a range of HGVs.
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.
  • Completing routine inspections, preventative maintenance and safety checks.
  • Repairing engines, gearboxes, braking systems, steering and suspension.
  • Using diagnostic equipment to accurately identify and rectify faults.
  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with DVSA regulations and manufacturer standards.
  • Completing job cards and maintenance documentation accurately.
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and health & safety within the workshop.
About You

We are keen to hear from candidates with experience as an:

  • HGV Technician
  • HGV Mechanic
  • Heavy Vehicle Technician
  • Vehicle Technician
  • Light Vehicle Technician
  • Mechanical Technician or similar

Vehicle Technicians looking to transition into the HGV industry are also encouraged to apply, with training and support available.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Previous mechanical repair and maintenance experience.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
  • A Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (preferred but not essential for highly experienced candidates).
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A Full UK Driving Licence.
  • An HGV Licence would be advantageous, but is not essential.
