Washakie Medical Center in Worland, Wyoming is hiring a full‑time RN New Graduate for the inpatient Med/Surg unit.

Work hours include 3–12‑hour night shifts; weekend and night shift differentials are applicable.

POSITION SUMMARY

The RN will assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing practice standards. The RN is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by themselves or others under their direction.

CORE FUNCTIONS

Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs. Reviews patient history, physical, diagnostics, laboratory data and interprofessional information, and reports abnormal results to the physician(s). Completes assessment and reassessments as outlined in policy.

Formulates a plan of care, including the discharge plan, based on assessment data, patient/family and health team input. Initiates care plans that are realistic, measurable and developed in collaboration with the patient/family. Considers all patient needs and reviews and revises plans as patient status changes.

Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of the health care team. Provides care per physician orders and nursing plan, complies with policies, standards of care and regulatory requirements. Delegates appropriately and offers nursing supervision, while ensuring continuity of care through accurate communication.

Evaluates the patient’s and family’s response to care and teaching, revising the plan of care as needed. Assesses progress toward goals and effectiveness of patient teaching.

Documents assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record. Documentation is legible, timely and follows policy, reflecting objective/subjective data, interventions and patient responses.

Provides care based on evidence, may participate in research and contributes to unit or facility shared leadership. Engages in education, orientation and mentoring of staff, patients, families and visitors.

Contributes to society by delivering timely, effective, efficient, equitable and safe care. Participates in nursing quality improvement and professional organizations.

May supervise staff and workflow of the department.

Interacts with all staff levels, patients, families and external contacts to coordinate care and support spiritual needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Current valid RN license in the state of practice (or equivalent).
BLS certification required.
Minimum of one year of acute‑care experience in a hospital setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
Professional nursing certification preferred.
Additional related education or experience preferred.
