Arab American Family Services (AAFS) is seeking a passionate, organized, and mission-driven professional to lead our Gender-Based Violence Training and Volunteer Program. This role is ideal for someone who is committed to survivor-centered services, community education, volunteer engagement, and strengthening the response to domestic violence and sexual assault across Illinois communities.

Salary Range: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour

Requirements
The Gender-Based Violence Training & Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing AAFS's training and volunteer programs. This position ensures compliance with applicable domestic violence and sexual assault standards, coordinates professional education initiatives, recruits and supervises volunteers, and supports agency-wide quality improvement efforts.
The Coordinator serves as a key resource for staff, volunteers, community partners, and professionals seeking education and training related to domestic violence, sexual assault, and trauma-informed services. This position also serves as a trained back-up advocate for hotline and hospital-based sexual assault response services when needed.
Key Responsibilities Training & Professional Education- Coordinate and facilitate Domestic Violence 40-Hour Trainings, Sexual Assault 40-Hour Trainings, and other approved educational programs.
- Manage all aspects of training delivery, including scheduling, registration, materials, presenters, evaluations, and continuing education documentation.
- Develop and deliver professional trainings for healthcare providers, educators, law enforcement, court personnel, faith communities, social service agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Recruit, mentor, and support guest speakers and trainers.
- Evaluate training outcomes and continuously improve educational programming.
- Represent AAFS at community events, conferences, trainings, and professional meetings.
- Develop, implement, and oversee the agency's volunteer program.
- Recruit, screen, onboard, train, schedule, supervise, and recognize volunteers.
- Coordinate volunteer involvement in hotline services, hospital advocacy, outreach activities, prevention education, events, and administrative projects.
- Maintain volunteer records and ensure compliance with agency requirements.
- Foster volunteer engagement through coaching, support, leadership development, and ongoing education.
- Ensure compliance with applicable funding, accreditation, and program requirements.
- Maintain training manuals, volunteer program materials, policies, procedures, and documentation systems.
- Monitor certification, continuing education, and training requirements for staff and volunteers.
- Maintain accurate records and support audits, grant reporting, accreditation reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Stay informed on best practices, laws, and emerging trends related to gender-based violence services.
- Serve as a trained back-up advocate for the agency's 24-hour hotline and hospital-based sexual assault medical advocacy program as needed.
- Provide trauma-informed crisis intervention, emotional support, advocacy, referrals, and safety planning.
- Maintain confidential and accurate case documentation.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support program growth and service delivery.
- Bachelor's degree in social work, Human Services, Education, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or a related field;
or an equivalent combination of education and experience. - Candidates without a bachelor's degree may qualify with a high school diploma or equivalent and at least five (5) years of relevant experience.
