WHS School Play Director
Location: Worthington, Minnesota
Position Overview
The School Play Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the school's theatrical production, from planning and rehearsals to performance. This role provides students with a creative and educational experience while fostering teamwork, confidence, and a love of the performing arts.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and organize the school play production, including rehearsals and performances
- Direct student actors and manage stage crew and volunteers
- Guide students in acting, stage presence, and character development
- Collaborate with staff, teachers, and parents to coordinate costumes, sets, and props
- Ensure a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all participants
- Communicate schedules, expectations, and performance details to students and families
- Experience in theater production, directing, or stage management preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work with middle or high school students
- Creativity, patience, and enthusiasm for theater arts
- Season: Fall
- Schedule: After school, evenings, and occasional weekend
