Lead Pastor Position at Grace Community Church
Grace Community Church (Worthington, MN) is searching for a Lead Pastor. The church has a rich history rooted in Christ with a heart to Know Jesus, Become Like Him, and Make Him Known Among All Nations. The church was born in 1997 with about a dozen families and became affiliated with the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA) within two years.
Over the duration of ten years, the church moved three times due to growth and God's blessings. The church exists to follow Jesus, serve where Jesus leads us, and to connect with our local communities. The church has flourishing children's, youth, college/young adult, and small/life group ministries. The Global Outreach (GO) Team supports eight missionary families around the globe and three missional organizations locally.
The church also partners with Christian camps and provides financial support and transportation to children finishing grades 1st-12th. The church has been blessed to support a number of mission trips globally to provide care for our families that we have sent to spread the Gospel of Christ.
The church is looking for a leader with knowledge, experience, and giftedness to: reach hearts through effective communication about how God's truth applies to life, and preaching based on a strong biblical context; activate our people to participate in the mission of the church; guide our ministries to encourage personal discipleship, a passion for the lost, personal spiritual transformation, and Christlikeness;
develop staff and multiply godly leadership to reach the lost; disciple believers to participate in our mission through transparent relationships, God's Word and a servant's heart; cultivate ongoing spiritual growth, capability, and effectiveness for serving; lead the church into engagement with the communities around us and encourage local outreach; integrate our multi-cultural community, work competently with many different cultures, and demonstrate cultural sensitivity.
Desired personal traits include: a consistent walk with God, a spirit-filled life and Spirit-led leadership, relational and networking skills, a sense of passion and vision, relational IQ and people development skills, the ability to identify and deal with issues objectively and promptly, and a willingness to be transparent. Key qualifications include: six years (desired) of multi-staff experience in a pastoral leadership position, demonstrated competence in preaching, a Master of Divinity from a respected evangelical educational institution (preferred), ordination in the Evangelical Free Church of America within 5-7 years (as a condition of employment), a man in a stable and loving marriage, meeting biblical standards for personal character and moral integrity with a willingness to undergo ongoing accountability, inspiring the church in contemporary, multi-cultural worship, and bilingual skills (strongly preferred, but not required).
Compensation pay range is $80K to $95K, depending on experience. Benefits include a retirement contribution of 6%-10% and a medical stipend of 50 percent of the cost of medical up to $1K/MTh.
